What I print

Parts you cannot buy off the shelf

Spare parts

Recreated from photos and measurements

Broken holders, clips, covers or knobs that are no longer available.

Accessories

Mounts for car, camper and home

Made for your exact spot, like my cup holder for the Fiat Ducato or the fan mount for roof windows.

Development

Prototypes and small series

From the first functional sample to a small series, with changes between versions.

Experience

Printing since 2012

  1. 2012

During my electrical engineering studies I build my first 3D printer. I design the mechanics, electronics and settings entirely myself.

  2. The years after

Several self-built printers run side by side for years. That is how you get to know every material and every print failure.

  3. Today

Modern printers with automatic colour and material changes. That means multicolour parts in a single print.

  • Design in Fusion 360 or SolidWorks, with a STEP file for you on request
  • I check tolerances, wall thickness and print orientation so the part fits and lasts
  • Post-processing and assembly if needed

How many parts are possible?

It depends on the size. That is why I plan quantity and delivery date for every project individually.

Small parts
Hand-sized parts
Full print bed

Print time: a few hours for a plate of small parts, about a day for one large part

Materials

Which material for which part?

The material decides whether a part holds up. Here are the most important ones, and I will help you choose.

MaterialPropertiesTypical use
PLADimensionally stable, clean finish, not heat resistantPrototypes, models, indoor parts
PETGTough, slightly flexible, handles mechanical stressMounts, functional parts, housings
ASAUV and weather resistant, tolerates heatParts for cars, campers and outdoors
TPUFlexible and rubber-like, absorbs shocksSeals, bumpers, protective covers
NylonVery tough and wear resistantGears, sliding parts, loaded clips
ABSMore heat resistant than PLA, easy to finishTechnical parts and housings

How a print job works

  1. 01

    Send a photo or file

A few photos with a ruler next to the part, the key dimensions or your STL or STEP file.

  2. 02

    Design & check

I design the part and check tolerances, wall thickness and print orientation.

  3. 03

    Quote

Material, price and delivery date in writing. A test print first if needed.

  4. 04

    Print & ship

I print, check the fit and ship the part, also internationally.

FAQ

Questions about 3D printing

Can I get a spare part printed without a 3D file?

Yes. Often a few photos with a ruler or tape measure next to the part and the key dimensions are enough. I then design the part. If you already have an STL or STEP file, it is faster.

Which file formats can I send?

Preferably STL or STEP. Photos, sketches and dimensioned drawings work too, then I design the model myself.

Which material is right for my part?

PLA suits prototypes and indoor parts. PETG handles mechanical stress better. ASA withstands sun and heat, for example in a car or outdoors. TPU is flexible and rubber-like. I advise you if you are unsure.

How many parts can you print?

It depends on the size. Small parts fit by the dozen on one build plate and are done in a few hours. One part the size of the print bed occupies a printer for about a day. Tell me the part and the quantity and I will plan the date.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes, I ship worldwide from Germany. Shipping costs depend on size, weight and destination and are included in the quote.
